Project story

Background:

Since 2019, this project has brought together researchers, community organizations and people living with dementia to foster inclusion and reduce stigma by creating meaningful opportunities for people with dementia to remain active and socially connected. It uses an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach to create meaningful opportunities for social connection and active participation in the community.
The 2023-2025 phase of this work builds on the previous project’s success, with the creation of an Action Guide to share the knowledge gained with a wider audience and help people in different locations, industries, and contexts start their own initiatives.
